Title:  EH&S Manager

Responsibilities: 

EHS Manager is responsible for the leadership, development and implementation of all environmental programs, procedures, training, work practices and controls. This position is responsible for identifying applicable environmental regulations and risks with all business units and departments and to implement acceptable systems in order to ensure compliance and conformance to EH&S Policies and Management System.

  • Maintain and ensure compliance to OSHA and environmental standards along with, federal, state and local regulations
  • Ensure that operational permits are in place and processes are compliant with the permits obtained
  • Develop and maintain safety and training programs and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations
  • Implement, monitor and maintain safety procedures and practices in coordination with the company’s guidelines
  • Preparation of documentation required for chemical shipments
  • Preparation of documentation required for supplier qualifications
  • Field safety visits and safety training
  • Identify hazards in the work environment, and conduct risk assessments for the various job functions
  • Implement accident prevention programs in response to identified hazards and/or OSHA safety requirements
  • Assist with worker’s compensation claims
  • Maintain PPE compliance and related health programs and training
  • Coordinate all hazardous waste activities at the facility, including monitoring, record keeping and training
  • Responsible for all environmental related record keeping and administration. This would include: compliance with all permits, operating conditions and regulatory standards
  • Provide support to other departments in the procurement and/or implementation of new equipment, processes or materials according to company guidelines for the safety of employees and protection of the environment
  • Provide safety training to all field services personnel. Will include travel to various business unit locations
  • Identify, assess and reduce the organization's environmental risks and financial costs

Requirements/Experience:

Individual must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented and efficient.

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Safety or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations required
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
