To reduce waste and to protect the environment from hazardous materials, waste electrical equipment should not be mixed in with general trash or in a landfill, instead it should be disposed of through a reputable and licensed materials processor. The symbol pictured here indicates that CiDRA and the SONARtrac system is in compliance with Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). In particular this indicates that your SONARtrac system may be covered under a program that allows you to return the product to CiDRA for proper treatment, recovery and disposal.
Currently this program applies to all European Union (EU) Member States with differences dependent upon the legislation of each particular member country. If you are not located in one of these countries, or if you purchased the product prior to August 13, 2005 then please contact CiDRA to determine if there are conditions under which you would be eligible to return your SONARtrac products to CiDRA for disposal.
All CiDRA products returned through this program must first obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number and subsequently be shipped to the address and per the instructions CiDRA specifies at that time for that particular RMA. Unless your National Laws implementing the WEEE directive explicitly say otherwise, CiDRA will not cover your costs to ship the waste hardware to the designated locations. The details of your National Laws implementing Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), your National Laws concerning shipments of waste, and a changing set of licensed WEEE recyclers in your region will lead to different shipping arrangements in different countries and may tend to change over time. There could be partial disassembly or cleaning required before shipment and restrictions on the type and markings of the waste shipping containers. For these reasons, please contact CiDRA directly to make disposal arrangements (USA 1-877-243-7277).
