Please be advised that “newer” laptops are able to communicate with the transmitter using a standard Ethernet cable (Cat or Category 5 cable) not just a cross-over cable. This is due to modern switches that automatically apply an internal crossover when necessary. This may be helpful in those cases when the cross-over cable is damaged or not available.
