Flow Measurement Handbook – Second Edition - Chapter Dedicated to Sonar Flow

Wallingford, CT - January 30, 2017

CiDRA today announced the availability of the second edition of the Flow Measurement Handbook, written by Roger Baker and published by Cambridge University Press. The first edition of the handbook was published in 2000, so this second edition is a much-anticipated update for engineers and developers alike.

Flow Measurement Handbook is a reference for engineers on flow measurement techniques and instruments. It strikes a balance between laboratory ideas and realities of field experience and provides practical advice on design, operation and performance of flowmeters.

The 2nd edition of the Flow Measurement Handbook now includes a chapter dedicated to sonar flow technology. Roger’s introduction to the sonar chapter includes the following, “Since preparing the 1st edition of this Handbook, CiDRA’s SONARtrac® flowmeter has become a significant additional meter making use of methods not previously developed to the author’s knowledge, and finding an important application in minerals processing and other industrial flow measurements needs.”

Roger Baker has worked for many years in industrial flow measurement. He studied at Cambridge and Harvard Universities and has held posts at Cambridge University, Imperial College and Cranfield, where he set up the Department of Fluid Engineering and Instrumentation.

The Second Edition of the Flow Measurement Handbook is now available for purchase through Cambridge University Press. Please see www.cidra.com for link to a discounted purchase price of the book.
